CITY SHERIFF – Mr. ROY SOUTH
Roy was born in Lincoln in 1945. He married Sandra in 1966 and they have two children; a daughter, Katie and a son Jon.
Roy attended Monks Road Junior School, Rosemary Secondary Modern School and was a Cathedral Chorister from the age of 7 to 14. Roy was an apprentice motor mechanic, worked in local garages and engineering firms, including Smith Clayton Forge and Clayton Dewandre.
He then had a partnership in a small local garage, before retiring at the age of 59 when the premises were sold for development into flats. He then did part-time work at Brownhills of Newark and B&Q.
Roy is a member of the Cathedral Old Choristers, the Lincoln Shrievalty Association and the FFN Lincoln.
His interests include : cars and foreign travel (having owned a holiday cottage in Brittany for 10 years!)
SHERIFF’S LADY – Mrs. SANDRA SOUTH
Sandra was born in Lincoln in 1942. She attended Monks Road Junior School and South Park High School for Girls.
Sandra worked in the Civil Service working in the Ministry of Labour (now the Employment Exchange) until the children came along. Later she worked part-time at Littlewoods store before taking a full-time position in Local Government, working in the Housing Department at City Hall. Sandra retired in 2004.
Since then, Sandra has been a volunteer ‘be-friender’ for a number of years with AGE UK, visiting the housebound and lonely. Sandra is a member of the Lincoln Shrievalty Association and Total Fitness Health Club (just for the aqua aerobics classes!)
Travel is her main interest.
